Carol Janssen
Group Fitness Instructor - Zumba® !!

Carol is certified as a Group Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer by the American Council on Fitness and has nine years of experience teaching group fitness classes. Her background includes teaching yoga, pilates, strength training, aerobics and dance fitness.

She finds Zumba® classes to be the most energizing, exciting, fun and effective workout. Carol is licensed to teach Zumba®, Zumba Gold® and Zumba Toning® classes. In college, Carol studied Ballet, Jazz, Modern Dance and choreography. When she is not teaching Zumba® classes, Carol teaches in the Business Education Department at Cuesta College.

Zumba®

Zumba® fitness is a fun, dance-fitness class which features rhythms like salsa, samba, merengue and cumbia set to high-energy Latin and international music. Before participants know it, they’re getting fit and their energy levels are soaring! The class is easy to do, effective and totally exhilarating.

Zumba Toning®

When it comes to body sculpting, Zumba Toning® raises the bar (or rather, the toning stick). The class combines targeted body-sculpting exercises and high-energy cardio work with Latin-infused Zumba moves to create a calorie-torching, strength-training dance fitness-party. Students learn how to use lightweight, maraca-like Toning Sticks to tone all their target zones, including arms, abs, glutes and thighs. Zumba Toning is the perfect way for enthusiasts to sculpt their bodies naturally while having a total blast.

Toning Sticks (1 lb. weighted sticks) can be rented for $1.00 per class or students can purchase their own pair from Carol for $20.00.  Students can also participate without using the sticks.
