Musical Theatre
Ages 5 – 12:
Students in this class will learn acting skills and stage direction through classic and modern Broadway show tunes. The ability to carry a tune is not required, though the focus of this class will be on voice and body movements with plenty of singing and acting games. Dance movements will be used to express emotions and character, which means that this tends to be a very active, playful class. Be ready to be loud and expressive and have a lot of fun when you walk into Musical Theatre.

Ages 13 – 18:
The focus of this class will be on fine tuning singing, auditioning, and character expression skills. Students will participate in both choral work and solo pieces from Broadway as they learn what it really takes to be in a musical. Class exercises will strengthen breathing, speaking, and singing abilities, while teaching advanced characterization and performance blocking with dancing. Beginners are welcome, but wall-flowers should be warned – all students must be prepared to move their bodies and sing along with some of the fun, energetic hits from Broadway in this Musical Theater class for teenagers.
