Rebecca Kensrue - Class Act Dance

Rebecca Kensrue
Ballet and Jazz

Class Act Dance welcomes Rebecca Kensrue to the 2011-2012 crew, where she’ll be working with the ballet and jazz departments. A believer in the traditional art of ballet, you can count on Rebecca to challenge her students to reach their best while strongly emphasizing self-confidence. Critical to her student’s success is creating a safe environment where her dancers feel comfortable in expressing themselves and their artistic abilities.

She conducts her classes with high-energy enthusiasm while maintaining a strict level of discipline to encourage the best from her dancers. You’ll find Rebecca to be out-going, friendly, passionate, professional, personable and eager to inspire her students as both a dancer and a role model.

Rebecca began dancing at the age of four at the Bend Oregon School of Ballet. Several years later she moved to Washington where she was accepted into the renowned Pacific Northwest Ballet School. It was here that dance would become a life-long passion. Moving to California, Rebecca trained with Theresa Slobodnik at American Dance, while also dancing with Ballet Theatre of SLO.

Her career as an instructor began with the YMCA Youth Program and Ballet Camp in San Luis Obispo where she has taught Creative Dance, Beginning and Intermediate Ballet, Hip-Hop and Jazz. She has choreographed for many productions and is especially in tune with choreography that showcases her dancer’s technique and newly acquired skills.

Rebecca is doing what she loves most: taking classes, teaching and choreographing as a passionate and devoted dancer.
