Meet Ms Rachel

The New Class Act Dance Owner

Hello CAD family! I’m Ms. Rachel—a California native who has spent the last 12 years teaching at more than a dozen studios and performing professionally from Washington, D.C. to Texas. Along the way, I learned how to grow programs by connecting with the community, hiring inspiring faculty, and designing seasons that light up young dancers’ imaginations. A fellow in the School of American Ballet’s 22/23 cohort and a former co-director of a digital dance company during the pandemic, I was drawn to Class Act Dance because it shares my belief that strong ballet roots and a variety of styles create well-rounded artists. From the moment Ms. Cheryle and I met, we knew our visions aligned: preserve her incredible legacy while launching exciting new chapters together. Looking ahead, I’m committed to keeping CAD a family-oriented studio that offers classical ballets productions each year, vibrant company performances and competitions, and engaging in-studio experiences for our youngest dancers. Thank you for welcoming me so warmly this past year; I can’t wait to guide CAD into its next 35 years of artistry, community, and joy!

A Message From Cheryle

Former Class Act Dance Owner

After 35 wonderful years of owning and directing Class Act Dance, I’m excited to share that I’ll be passing the torch to Rachel Connerton at the end of July. Since 1990, it has been my honor to help build a studio rooted in discipline, creativity, and connection, a true home for so many dancers and families. When I began envisioning the next chapter, I knew it was vital to find someone who understood the heart of CAD. Rachel is that person. Over the past two years, she and I have worked closely to ensure a thoughtful and seamless transition. She brings not only talent and experience, but also a deep love for this community. While I’ll be stepping away from ownership, I’m not going far! I’ll remain a part of CAD as an instructor, Nutcracker director, and Artistic Director of our nonprofit foundation. Thank you for being such a meaningful part of this journey. I look forward to all that’s ahead as we continue to grow, together.

We are excited to share that Class Act Dance is upgrading to a new and improved software program called Momence, just in time for our upcoming 2025-26 Season!

Here's what you need to know:

  • In order to participate in priority enrollment week for the new season (starting August 1st), you'll need to create a Family Portal on Momence.

  • All 2024/25 Season Families will receive an email on August 1st, 2025 directly from the Momence software team. Within this email will provide you a priority enrollment link and directions to create a new portal.

  • Studio Director will be available to the end of August for summer enrollment.
